Your Rudeness

During my passing through the State of Maryland, I decided to stop at a familiar eating ground ""Southern Blues"" located in Randallstown, MD. While ordering my food I couldn't help but notet the young male (less than 30yrs of age) taking my order - tall in stature with dark framed glasses had a nasty disposition about him. I ignored it and continued on inquiring of my order. I left to my destination - Washington, DC, all to find a portion of my order was wrong. I was given gravy on my meat and I didn't order that. I called and spoke to the young male - somehow we were disconnected. I then RETURNED to the restaurant to get the correct meat (NO GRAVY). Boy did I get the treatment. The young man was still there. He started with general pose. NOT BEING RUDE I then proceeded to share with him how I had to return for this order correction. What did I do that for because he rudely revved in exclaiming he might can't see but he can hear and that I didn't tell him that I didn't want gravy on my meat. I then stated that I am sure being that I am almost 50yrs of age by now I am sure that I don't order or like gravy on anything. he said well since his Mother is 60 yrs old he has respect for her then he would respect my age but I had to give him respect first. I then stated that I wasn't disrespectful or rude and that he was.
I also stated to prove that he was wrong, I opened my receipt to show him he had my order with cornbread that I did not order. He then stated you don't like cornbread, you don't like gravy and you don't eat rice - well you are in the wrong place and should get your money back. I then stated my ordering is the purpose of ordering to pay for what I ordered and not for what you wanted me to have. Ordering is an option Sir. After dealing with his nasty, rude and non-customer care disposition I then asked for the Owner. He said the Owner was in jail. I asked was he relative to the Owner. He said yes and murmmered something about his Mother and all. I said perhaps one establishment too many since the me, the customer is being treated like I was being treated. I asked for a contact name and number. He walked away ignorning me. I asked the other two younger aged males if they're allowed to provide that information or the older male's name at least. One male said no and the other didn't say anything. When the the rude male returned to the counter I then innocently asked him ""So you're saying your mother is the Owner and she's in jail?"" He revved up even more. Meanwhile, all of this disruption was taking place in front of OTHER CUSTOMERS.

Bottom line is Customers are ALWAYS, ALWAYS right. IF it weren't for the customer, then there wouldn't be a business for ANY BUSINESS - privately or publically owned. The economy has yet to fully rebound and a dollar worked for is hardly earned and doesn't warrant the mistreatment and rudeness of customers. Why should I or any other customer want to return to any servicing business and use hard earned money to receive harsh, rude, nasty, non-caring customer service?

In closing, I never, ever had this type of treatment from Southern Blues. I was glad to support a black owned and operating business. I even recommend it to travelers going through Randallstown and State of Maryland. But after this mess, unfortunately I will NOT be returning there. I don't know what he may do to my food or me even for that matter. The young male doesn't know who I am or who I know or any of the sort. And IF I were his Mother(if she's still living (with all due respect), if not my apology) I would PERSONALLY FIRE him and let him know that he represents not only Southern Blues as a relative to the Owner/s and should be an example to the employees, but he also represents me as a Mother - HIS Mother more specifically. The Bible reads that a disruptive child is a disgrace to the Mother (not to the Father).

BAD SERVICE

On yesterday evening around 8:30 pm I went to Southern Blues to purchase some vegetables for my dinner. I had always purchased from them over the past few years, but had not been in quite some time. When I entered into the establishment, I asked the gentlemen if he had cabbage and he replied, ""NO we are all out for the night."". I then asked what vegetables he still had. Instead of answering my question his phone rings and proceeds to ignore me & answer the phone leaving me standing there wondering what just happened. I looked at him and turned and left. But the ironic thing about it is he never said anything to me as I walked outof the door. Such poor customer service these days and what they don't understand is that we keep them in business. I hope he was just having a bad night or he may need to be replaced before you lose alot of business.

We love the food although customer service is lacking. I would also recommend calling in your order to avoid the long wait. At times you will be placed on hold for a long time to place an order, but it's worth ordering ahead for pick up. We keep coming back because the food is good, and it's in our community, if wasn't for the food they would have a problem. Hey, for those evenings after a long day of work and your to tired to cook, Southern Blues Soul Food has been the place for us. Keep on cookin!

I do frequent the establishment. I've never experienced any problems with my food, however, the service is a different story. It could be a little better, maybe hire enough staff, especially on the busiest days. I would recommend the place to friends and family.

The food is good but the fact that there is poor service is the main reason that I will not solicit this business. The staff acts as if they are doing you a favor by waiting on you. I experienced this on 3 separate occasions so in this type of economy I think I will spend my money elsewhere.

A local favorite of mine

Although the service isn't that well... the food is Great. Also the seating is very very uncomfortable... its not a place you would consider dining in. I had a pretty long wait but after tasting my food I forgot all about the 45 minutes that I waited. THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!...
