Kobe Japanese Steakhouse

I brought my family and friends to Kobe last night. Our teppan chef was excellent and provided a great show for us. The food on the other hand, was just decent.

I ordered the highly-acclaimed kobe beef. This beef is supposed to be tender enough to cut through with a fork, but it wasn't. It was more along the lines of a very tender filet mignon.

The service was kinda slow. I can't understand our waitress half the time. The worse thing about this place is they write on the check asking us to tip a certain amount, which makes me feel kinda dumb.

Kobe is such a fun and great place to eat. I absolutely love it here. They have many different locations and I have been to most of them, and loved every visit! Kobe is a can be pricey, but it is well worth it! You definitely get your money's worth here. They give you quality and quantity. I usually order steak, shrimp, and scallop, and find myself always needing to bring a doggie bag home. Not to fail to mention....the leftovers are yummy. The service here is also very good. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The chefs are awesome. They will make your dining experience unforgettable. They are so entertaining. I have been to many other japanese restaurants like arigato and benihanas, and Kobe is by far the best. I would recommend Kobe to anyone!

The food, service, and entertainment by the chef was really good. However, I was a party of ONE, yet had the tip automatically included as well as a blank to add even more of a tip to that. That should be made clear up front.

We saw and ad in the visitor's guide for this restaurant. It offered $2 off per person with each dinner. What the coupon failed to mention is that the restaurant adds an 18% gratuity to the bill without your appoval. We found out the hard way when the bill arrived. Basically, they gave us $8 off our food and helped themselves to $17 in tip. Also, the food was so-so. This place believes more in quantity than quality. They give you so much food that you cannot possibly eat it all. We would rather have tender,tasty meat over a large piece of shoe leather. We were extremely disappointed. This place is not cheap!
